ADVANCED SKATING CLINIC & PRIVATE LESSONS

with Coach Jason Dilworth & Coach Raegan Klein


Clinic & Private Lesson Opportunities: Monday, February 19th, 2024

Registration Deadline: 2/12/24

Open to skaters of all ages who have single jumps and higher. In this clinic skaters will work with Coach Jason Dilworth and Coach Raegan on Jump and Spin Technique and other higher level skating skills.

Skaters will be grouped according to ability and will range Low (single jumps only), Intermediate (all singles and working on Axle), High (Double jumps and above).

Skaters will begin on the ice from 9:00-11:00 AM for Freestyle Ice with the option to sign up for a lesson with Coach Jason and/or Coach Raegan or to use for independent practice. 

The Clinic will follow the Freestyle Ice, running from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

This is a 2-hour clinic that will start in a large group allowing all skaters access to both coaches and will then break up according to ability with Higher level skaters working primarily with Coach Jason and lower-level skaters working primarily with Coach Raegan.

Private Lesson Note: Skaters must be enrolled in the clinic to purchase a private lesson. This can be an individual lesson, or you can make it a small group lesson by adding up to 3 additional skaters to your lesson. If you would like to use your lesson time as a small group lesson, you will pay for the lesson and collect from the other skaters attending with you.

Jason Dilworth Bio

Jason is a Master Rated coach with the Professional Skaters Association in the disciplines of Freestyle, Field Moves, Group Instruction and Program Direction and is currently ranked level IV.  Training with World and Olympic coach Peter Burrows in New York, Jason was a Regional and Sectional Champion as well as a United States National Competitor. As a Coach and Mentor, Jason has worked with National, World and Olympic athletes as well as their coaching teams. 

A past Professional Skaters Association Board member and current PSA Chairman for Group Instruction, Program Direction and a member of the PSA National Education Committee, Jason’s team rewrote the Freestyle, Group, and Program Director Rating Exams for Coach Certification through the PSA. 

Independently contracted by US Figure Skating as a Business Development Specialist in 2016, Jason worked with US Figure Skating developing and rebranding many of their grassroots programming. As a sitting member of the Program Development Committee with US Figure Skating, Jason’s team was instrumental in the development of many programs including the format and curriculum for the Excel Program, Learn to Skate USA and the “Aspire” Bridge Program. 

Jason is a featured presenter for US Figure Skating, the PSA International Conference/Summit, NARCE and USA Hockey as well as being faculty for the Professional Skaters Associations Ratings PREP program. 

Most recently, Jason was honored to be invited by the High Performance Team of US Figure Skating to be on the faculty and a featured presenter at the US Figure Skating National High Performance Development Team Camp. 

Raegan Klein Bio

Number of Years Coaching:  4 years

Coaching Philosophy: Providing guidance to athletes who are working towards their full potential. Strengthening basic skating skills, advanced skills, and working towards mastery.

Teaches: LTS classes, Advanced Classes, Hockey Academy, Freestyle, Sunlight Skate, Daytrip Skate, Aspire, Choreography, Off Ice, SD Theater On Ice, ISI competitors and USFS competitors.

Credentials: LTS USA compliant, USFS compliant, ISI compliant, Safesport compliant, ISI Gold Certified Judge

Athlete Accomplishments: Advancing through basic skills in both figure skating and hockey, transitioning skaters through intermediate levels and into competitions, graduating skaters from single jumps to doubles. 

Other Achievements: I have competed in South Dakota’s Theater on Ice team 2 years.  

Fun Fact: I love teaching life long skills with figure skating. During the days I coach Sunlight Skate Classes Where I get to combine counting, dancing, colors and shapes with skating In my classes of homeschooled and pre-school students

IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT INFORMATION

All skaters on Freestyle Ice are considered members of the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, which requires a SFFSC Membership. Your membership must be current before we are able to welcome your skater onto the ice. 
If you do not have the required current membership, please visit our membership page to purchase or renew your membership at sffsc.com/membership where you can view all memberships we offer and the details/requirements for each membership.

Guest Skaters: A Guest Skater Pass - Group Programming ($25) is required for any skater with a current USFS, ISI, or LTS USA membership with their Home Club who is visiting our rink as a guest for a limited time. Must reside outside the Sioux Falls metro area (must be 50 miles or more from Sioux Falls). Valid for one session only - a pass is required for each session purchased. Skating on SFFSC ice on a regular basis requires a SFFSC annual membership. Proof of required memberships must be provided at the time of registration - prior to taking the ice.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SFFSC has the right to cancel any session, class, or event that does not reach the required skater minimums prior to the registration deadline. All deadlines are set a minimum of seven days prior to the day of the event. Should any session be canceled, you will be notified via email and refunded. Registration & Processing Fees are non-refundable.
