Clinic & Private Lesson Opportunities: Friday, July 11, 2025

Open to skaters of all ages who have single jumps and higher. In this clinic skaters will work with Coach Debbie Minter and other coaches on several components of skating that will develop the skaters technique and performing abilities.
Skaters will be grouped according to ability and will range Low (single jumps only), Intermediate (all singles and working on Axle), High (Double jumps and above).
Skaters in each group will be coached be Debbie and other assisting coaches, Coach Riley Block and Coach Raegan Klein.
The clinic will follow the Freestyle Ice, running from 8:15 AM-3:00 PM.
Tentative Schedule
8:15-8:45 AM: Dryland Warm Up
9:00-11:00 AM: Freestyle Ice and Private Lessons
11:00-11:30 AM: Break/Lunch - Resurface
11:30-12:00 AM: Edges & Skating Skills
12:00-1:00 PM: Jumps & Spins
1:00-1:30 PM: Presentation
1:30-1:45 PM: Break - Skates off
1:45-2:45 PM: Dryland Training (Jumps, stretching, and cooldown)
3:00-3:30 PM: Coaches Training
*Please note this clinic includes two hours of Freestyle ice, when you register for the clinic you get those ice times and the choice to purchase a private lesson with one of the coaches*
Private Lesson Note: Skaters must be enrolled in the clinic to purchase a private lesson. This can be an individual lesson, or you can make it a small group lesson by adding up to 3 additional skaters to your lesson. If you would like to use your lesson time as a small group lesson, you will pay for the lesson and collect from the other skaters attending with you.

Coach Riley Block Bio
Number of Years Coaching: 12 YearsCoaching Philosophy: Helping children enjoy and advance through ice skating while teaching them valuable life lessons and nurturing their love for the sport.
Teaches: Advanced Classes, Learn to Skate, Hockey Academy, Theater on Ice, Private Lessons for both Hockey and Figure Skating
Coaching Credentials: ISI Professional Membership, Gold ISI Judge Certified, USFS Compliant Coach, LTS USA Instructor, USA Hockey Certified Coach
Athlete Achievements: Aided and Coaches Skaters up to the ISI Open Gold Level, Gold Skating Skills, and Juvenile Elements
Other Achievements: Riley has experience coaching students at ISI competitions both in the area and at National events (10 years) and USFS competitions (6 years). She has choreographed several programs for athletes in the club & annual show and has experience working with hockey skaters ages 4 - 15 on skating skills in preparation for hockey leagues.
Riley is CPR certified and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree - Elementary and Middle School Education
Fun Fact: Riley has five kids & five dogs, enjoys watching hockey and has a passion for working with hockey skaters. She has been a member of the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club consistently for over 20 years.

Coach Raegan Klein Bio
Number of Years Coaching: 5 years
Coaching Philosophy: Providing guidance to athletes who are working towards their full potential. Strengthening basic skating skills, advanced skills, and working towards mastery. Ensuring to instill positive work ethic and self talk.
Teaches: Theater On Ice, Aspire, Hockey Academy, Learn To Skate, Freestyle, and Competitive.
Credentials: LTS USA compliant, USA Hockey compliant, ISI compliant, USFS compliant, ISI Gold judge certified.
Athlete Accomplishments: Advancing through basic skills in both figure skating and hockey skating skills, transitioning skaters through intermediate levels and into competitions (regional and world), graduating skaters from single jumps to doubles.
Other Achievements: I competed on the SD Theater On Ice Nationals team in Birmingham, AL 2019. I competed in local USFS competitions, and ISI regional and world competitions.
Fun Fact: As a skater I looked forward to performing in front of the audience and drawing out their reactions. Currently, choreography is one of my largest passions in my career!

Private Lesson Costs
Skaters must be enrolled in the clinic to purchase a private lesson. Each coach accepts all levels. All lessons are 20 minutes.

IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT INFORMATION
All skaters are considered members of the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, which requires a SFFSC Membership. Your membership must be current before we are able to welcome your skater onto the ice. If you do not have the required current membership you will receive an email from our membership manager with instructions on how to purchase or renew your membership.
Summer SFFSC Membership note: The summer session occurs during both the 2024-25 season and the 2025-26 season. All skaters participating in the summer season will need both season memberships. (2024-25 season ends on 6/30/25 and the 2025-26 season begins on 7/1/25. All 2025-26 memberships are effective through 6/30/26).
- Skaters with a current 2024-25 SFFSC Membership: If you have a current 2024-25 SFFSC Membership, that will expire on 6/30/25, you will receive an email with a link to renew your membership for the 2025-26 season.
- New Skaters or Skaters from Other Clubs: If you are new to SFFSC programs and participating in the summer session for the first time, you will receive an email with options for Summer Memberships or memberships for both seasons
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
SFFSC has the right to cancel any session, class, or event that does not reach the required skater minimums prior to the registration deadline. All deadlines are set a minimum of seven days prior to the day of the event. Any invoice created to enroll a skater in a program past the deadline to register will be subject to a $5 invoice fee. Should any session be canceled, you will be notified via email and refunded. Registration & Processing Fees are non-refundable. Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club releases responsibility and liability of all participants at the conclusion of each event as specified in the event schedule.
