SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM

Train and advance your skills both on-ice and off-ice.

Registration Note:
This is open to both SFFSC Members and skaters from other clubs. Guest Skaters will be required to purchase a Guest Pass for $25 per day.

Summer is a great time for skaters to focus on their training and advance their skills in all areas. The summer training program is designed to keep our athletes working both off and on the ice. Off-ice training will be used to work on strength, flexibility, balance, jumping technique, air & landing position, and endurance.

Skaters can plan for 2+ hours of training each day. One hour of on-ice training will be utilized to excel skaters in moves/skating skills, jumps, spins, choreography, power, speed, and endurance. 

All skaters in Basic 3 (Alpha) and above are invited to enroll.

Tentative Schedule: 11:30 AM-2:15 PM

*Morning Freestyle Ice from 8:30-10:00 AM* register at: sffsc.com/programs/freestyle  
  • 11:30-11:50 AM: Off-ice Jump Harness Training
  • 11:50 AM-12:00 PM: Skates on (drink and restroom break)
  • 12:00-1:00 PM: On-ice Training
  • 1:00-1:15 PM: Skates off (drink and restroom break) 
  • 1:15-2:15 PM: Yoga, Stretching, and Off-ice Cool Down
Cost: 
  • $55 per day for SFFSC members
  • $80 per day for Guest Skaters ($55 + $25 Guest Pass)

Save $10 when you Buy All June: Purchase both June dates for $100 (includes 6/20 & 6/27) (SFFSC member pricing, guest skater must add guest pass).

Save $10 when you Buy All July: Purchase both July dates for $100 (includes 7/18 & 7/25) (SFFSC member pricing, guest skater must add guest pass).

Save $25 when you Buy All Summer: Purchase all June, July, and August dates for the best price of $250 (includes 6/20, 6/27, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1) (SFFSC member pricing, guest skater must add guest pass).

Guest Skater Note: If you a guest skater that is attending more than one day or additional programming (freestyle ice or advanced classes), we recommend purchasing a SFFSC Summer Membership or a Secondary Membership to be eligible for SFFSC Member Pricing.

*This program's operational minimum is 10 skaters per day, SFFSC reserves the right to cancel programming if minimums are not met. Refunds will be issued for any canceled programming; processing fees are non-refundable*

 

IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT INFORMATION

All skaters are considered members of the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, which requires a SFFSC Membership. Your membership must be current before we are able to welcome your skater onto the ice. If you do not have the required current membership you will receive an email from our membership manager with instructions on how to purchase or renew your membership.

Summer SFFSC Membership note: The summer session occurs during both the 2023-24 season and the 2024-25 season. All skaters participating in the summer season will need both season memberships. (2023-24 season ends on 6/30/24 and the 2024-25 season begins on 7/1/24. All 2024-25 memberships are effective through 6/30/25). 

  • Skaters with a current 2023-24 SFFSC Membership: If you have a current 2023-24 SFFSC Membership, that will expire on 6/30/24, you will receive an email with a link to renew your membership for the 2024-25 season.

  • New Skaters or Skaters from Other Clubs: If you are new to SFFSC programs and participating in the summer session for the first time, you will receive an email with options for a Guest Pass, Summer Membership, or memberships for both seasons.

Guest Skaters: A Guest Skater Pass - Group Programming is required for any skater with a current USFS, ISI, or LTS USA membership with their Home Club who is visiting our rink as a guest for a limited time. Must reside outside the Sioux Falls metro area (must be 50 miles or more from Sioux Falls). Valid for one session only - a pass is required for each session purchased. Skating on SFFSC ice on a regular basis requires a SFFSC annual membership. Proof of required memberships must be provided at the time of registration - prior to taking the ice. If you are purchasing more than one day, you may want to consider a Summer or Secondary Membership (both of these membership types qualify for member pricing).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SFFSC has the right to cancel any session, class, or event that does not reach the required skater minimums prior to the registration deadline. All deadlines are set a minimum of seven days prior to the day of the event. Should any session be canceled, you will be notified via email and refunded. Registration & Processing Fees are non-refundable.
